You may work on-campus if you are attending a public educational institution or a qualified private educational institution, AND you have a valid study permit.
A work permit grants a person temporary residence in Canada.
If visitors want to enroll in full-time studies they need a study permit.
A temporary resident visa is an official document that is placed in your passport to demonstrate that you have met the requirements to enter Canada.
If you require a temporary resident visa, you do not have to apply for it separately or pay a separate fee.
If your study permit is approved, the visa will be issued at the same time.
Working Students As of June 1, 2014, if you are studying in an academic, professional or vocational training program, you are also allowed to work off-campus.
